We have a Wii winner.

eBay seller Joilie4788 scored big time, and with just days to spare before the holidays.  She won a brand new Wii just for activating the SquareTrade CarePlus program.

Not only is she getting a surprise Wii, but she also earns money every time one of her buyers get a SquareTrade warranty on any of the items she sells. She can even keep track of the number of warranties she sold and her revenue right on the SquareTrade web site.

eBay sellers know a secret -- SquareTrade pays off.

GearDiary writer Wayne Schultz usually avoids warranties -- they're a ripoff.  So does his eBay-selling roommate.  Well, except for SquareTrade, the one warranty that pays off.

Schultz writes:

"My college roommate had to make a claim on an old Garmin GPS that simply quit working and was shocked that they mailed a check within a day for the full INITIAL purchase price of the Garmin. He swears by this insurance and uses it in place of the pricier extended warranties that retailers push on you."

He adds that SquareTrade is a great option for new, used, and refurbished electronics purchased on eBay and in the store.

eBay for iPhone: Addictive for buyers, convenient for sellers.

The way I obsessively checked my iPhone over dinner last weekend, it was pretty obvious to my friends that there was something extremely critical that was going to need my attention soon.  Life or death, actually.

This was serious.  I needed to win that Timbuk2 messenger bag.  There was absolutely NO WAY kelc_123 was going to snap it up from me at the last minute... NO WAY.  I refused to even consider the possibility of pausing the bidding war and enjoying my chicken curry.  And thanks to eBay for iPhone, I was able to swoop in at the last minute -- when she least expected it -- and swipe it right out from under her nose.  Winner.

The app overall is pretty simple, and free.  You get an at-a-glance overview of your activity on the home page, and a bit more detailed view on the My eBay page.  You can search for and buy, sell, or watch... all the really important stuff.  Only major downfalls I found:  no messaging or ability to ask a seller a question.  Check out the CNET review of eBay for iPhone for more details.

 

We don't mean to brag...

But people have been talking about us a heck of a lot lately.  Well, ok.  We'll brag a little:

Reuters and the Chicago Tribune both list us as one of the best ways to protect your purchases.

TWICE says the warranty industry is changing and SquareTrade is rewriting the warranty model.

And GeekSugar (my personal favorite blog) lists us as a good option for protecting your iPhone 3G.

So if you're a SquareTrade seller you can feel good about the fact that word is getting out there that this is really the easiest, cheapest, best way to protect electronics and appliances.
